In the last few days bad news has been accumulating on the transport front. Freight, sea, road: all modes are impacted by the fall – for some, the collapse – of volumes and sometimes prices.

That is the increase in bankruptcies in road transport during the last nine months, according to figures from the Fédération Nationale des Transports Routiers (FNTR, National Road Transport Federation). This figure is much greater (+ 63 %) than for the 3rd quarter of 2007.
